Can CBD Help Your Child?

by | May 20, 2020 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

Are you curious if CBD can help your child?

CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol, one of the many cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. Watch this quick video to understand the difference between CBD and THC and the therapeutic benefits of each.

CBD for Kids

I interviewed two medical cannabis experts from the Om of Medicine. Evan Litinas, MD, is a published author in the field of cannabis. After gaining relief from her debilitating symptoms of Crohn’s Disease with medical cannabis, Lisa became a medical cannabis patient advocate.

Watch this video to learn how to find quality cannabis products, the safety of starting with low dose CBD, and when to seek a medical card for cannabis for your child. Note: We recorded this video, pre-COVID quarantine. Minute twelve, you’ll see my daughter trying to get into our house after school. #MomMoments

3 Types of CBD

There are three main types of CBD available: isolate, broad-spectrum, and full-spectrum.

  • Isolate CBD is the most processed, removing all other compounds from the hemp plant.
  • Broad-spectrum CBD contains most of the compounds of the hemp plant.
  • Full-spectrum CBD contains all the compounds of the hemp plant.

With so many new CBD products on the market, finding a quality product can feel challenging.

Two CBD Products We Use

There are two CBD products we use in my family. Which works best depends on the individual.

> Isagenix Full-Spectrum CBD Oil
> Metagenics Broad-Spectrum Hemp Oil

Both are appropriately tested for quality, purity, and consistency. Both contain less than 0.3% THC. Both undergo quality testing to ensure they deliver the amount of CBD that’s promised on the label.

Can CBD help your child with anxiety, seizures, or inflammation?

The answer is you’ll never know unless you try. As Dr. Evan mentioned in the CBD for kids video, safety is high. Start low and increase as needed.
